Schertz Super Duper Con is a pop culture event that takes place in the beautiful city of Schertz, Texas. Come celebrate comics, anime, toys, cosplay, and all things pop culture in a family friendly environment! This event is on 13-14 November 2021 at the Schertz Civic Center!
Schertz Super Duper Con Rules General Rules and Regulations Schertz Super Duper Con has a weapons policy. We strongly recommend that you ensure any props you have conform to it. No actual weapons are allowed at the show. If you have a prop, it must not be composed of metal. All weapon style props will need to be secured with a zip tie. Metal knives, metal firearms and metal swords are not allowed. Projectiles and Water guns are not allowed in the convention. Any use of them in public will result in immediate removal from the convention. All involved parties will be required to pay the cost of any property damages suffered by vendors or individuals. Failure to follow the rules may result in loss of badge and removal from the convention. If anyone violates these rules, Schertz Super Duper Con reserves the right to remove anyone from the convention event and those in violation will not receive a refund. Mobility/Access To help us better provide this service, we ask that those with Mobility/Access needs to inform the registration desk so that we inform our staff and ensure that you are allowed early access and front row seating when/where applicable. Any seating is first-come, first-served. Because of fire regulations, blocking and sitting in aisles and seating beyond the room’s capacity are not allowed. Remember that we are bound by law to strictly enforce this. Regardless of opinions or fandoms, please treat each other with respect, we are all here to have fun. Media Please be aware as an attendee of Schertz Super Duper Con that media representatives will be present at the con and may be filming at any time. Any videos and photos taken by Schertz Super Duper Con staff become the property of the con and may be used for publicity purposes. Signs are allowed as long as they are in good taste Signs that are of political or religious nature have no place at Schertz Super Duper Con. We have the right to ask you to put signs away if security finds they are inappropriate. Photography Flash photography is strictly forbidden for safety reasons. Photography of all other aspects of the con is allowed, if it does not disrupt events, or the flow of traffic and the subject does not object. Please be considerate and ask first before taking pictures of guests, con staff, other attendees or the general public. Kindly take a picture or two and not take up too much of the person’s time and do not block isles. Smoking Schertz Super Duper Con is a non-smoking convention. Smoking is prohibited except outside, where venue policy permits... This includes vaping. Children (under 18) A parent or guardian must always accompany children (minors) under 18. Parents and guardians are responsible for the well-being and behavior of all children at all times. Parents or guardians should make sure that the children in their care respect the property of others and not handle or play with merchandise at vendors table before paying for it. Please remember... you break it, you buy it. Alcohol, Drugs, Theft, Vandalism Schertz Super Duper Con is a family friendly convention and WILL NOT tolerate any illegal alcohol or drug use, sales or possession. Anyone caught under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave Schertz Super Duper Con, and no refund will be given. Schertz Super Duper Con 2021 is a large event that will undoubtedly have large numbers of attendees over the course of the weekend. We ask that if you see someone doing something, they should not be doing, please report it to any Schertz Super Duper Con staff. Theft and Vandalism should be reported promptly to the staff. Anyone caught shoplifting or pickpocketing will be reported to Schertz Police immediately. Badges and wrist bands Badges and wristbands must be worn at all times while in the expo hall. Lost badges and or wrist bands should be reported promptly to the Registration desk. Lost/stolen badges and or wrist bands will NOT be replaced. Please make sure your badge and wrist band(s) are on, and visible at all times. Assistance Convention Staff will be wearing distinctive red T-shirts. If you need any assistance just ask, if you see any problems, report it promptly. Dress Code The Schertz Super Duper Con dress code policy All attendees must wear clothing and footwear at ALL times, even when you’re in costume. The following costume elements are not allowed at Schertz Super Duper Con and the venue because of safety reasons, whether you are in costume or not: Bare Feet Stilts (wooden and metal) without prior approval from Schertz Super Duper Con staff. Roller Skates and roller blades Skateboards Please know that if the show promoter feels an item or element (listed or not listed) may be dangerous or inappropriate, the show promoter can decide to not allow certain items into the show venue. The show promoter will make the final decision on this matter. * Please understand that this is a family show. Those that wear overly sexually suggestive clothing, lingerie (or lack of clothing), will be asked to cover up, change into something more appropriate, or leave. The show promoter will make the final decision on this matter. Refunds will not be given if you are asked to leave under these conditions. Please look at our Weapons and Prop Policy on what weapons are allowed in the convention. With all that being said... Let’s have fun, enjoy ourselves, and be courteous to the other attendees, vendors and artists!
Rules & Regulations Schertz Super Duper Con staff welcomes all vendors and artists who wish to participate in the Vendor Rooms! We ask that all vendors and artists please be respectful of decisions that the staff may have to make concerning the convention space. We are constantly working to make the con experience great for everyone and may have to make changes in the initial plans. There will be dedicated staffers available exclusively to the Vendor and Artist rooms to try to prevent theft. They will be wearing red STAFF shirts at the convention, so if there should be any questions/problems, please contact these staffers. We will try our best to prevent problems from occurring, but we cannot plan for every contingency. Should a problem arise with another vendor, please speak to a staffer. – All 10′ x 10′ spaces include 2 tables and 2 vendor badges. Extra badges may be purchased at $20 per badge. – All 7′ x 7′ spaces include 1 table and 2 vendor badges. Extra badges may be purchased at $20 per badge. Venue Policies Please do not use staples, nails, tacks or other forms of tape. Do not place stickers or paints, or deface venue materials in any permanent fashion. Signs, banners, and flyers may not be posted outside of your table space. Advertising of other shows is strictly prohibited without the consent of the show promoter. We do not allow the open sales of any type of adult-deemed material (not limited to DVDs, VHSs, pornographic images/artwork). No adult material may be viewed, sold or distributed to minors, and we require that vendors not bring adult-themed material at all. Schertz Super Duper Con reserves the right to judge the acceptability of all displays. The presence and sale of weapons are prohibited. In addition, the show promoter reserves the right to remove any questionable material that is potentially inappropriate or offensive at Schertz Super Duper Con. VENDOR & ARTIST CONTRACT 1) Schertz Super Duper Con agrees to provide purchased spaces, which will be located in the areas designated “Vendor Rooms”. Schertz Super Duper Con will provide load times closer to the event. Vendor agrees to vacate convention hall premises by no later than 8pm Sunday, November 14, 2021. 2) Schertz Super Duper Con agrees to be responsible for promoting the show. Schertz Super Duper Con makes no representations as to the number of attendees and/or customers who will be in attendance. 3) Subletting of tables is not permitted. Vendors and Artists may not sell another artists prints or posters unless the artist is there AND in person at the show. If the Artist is not present at the show, the prints or posters cannot be sold unless they are officially licensed prints and or poster items. 4) Each application will be processed on a first come – first served basis by merchandise category, with exceptions on a case-by-case basis (at the discretion of Schertz Super Duper Con). 5) Vendor shall be responsible for the actual setup of its displays. Schertz Super Duper Con shall not be liable for any loss or damage to Vendor’s property or for any personal injury suffered by Vendor or any of its agents. Vendor will hold Schertz Super Duper Con and The Schertz Civic Center harmless for any personal injury or damage to goods that may occur. 6) The following activities are prohibited in the Vendor Rooms at all times: Smoking or any burning of objects; sales of food or beverage products; consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages not bought on site, sales of sharp-bladed weapons, sales of 18+ material, not limited to hentai, yaoi, yuri, porn, etc. 7) All vendors shall have a signed copy of the Schertz Super Duper Con Vendor Contract (this document) on file with Schertz Super Duper Con. No vendor shall be allowed to sell merchandise or services at the convention facility without having a signed copy on file with Schertz Super Duper Con. No party shall be allowed to sell merchandise or services outside of the space deemed “Vendor Rooms” or in these areas outside of the given hours. 8) Vendors may play audio devices at a low volume. Schertz Super Duper Con reserves the right to determine the definition of ‘low volume.’ Furthermore, Schertz Super Duper Con reserves the right to determine what audio content may be played during the hours of operation of the Vendor Rooms. 9) All vendors must claim their tables before Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 9 am, or send written notice via email of reason for being late no later than 1 week before the date. Tables which have not been claimed by that time may be resold at the sole discretion of Schertz Super Duper Con, and vendor will not receive a refund. 10) Tables that are cancelled prior to September 13th, 2021 with written notice shall be refunded one hundred (100) percent of its cost. B) Vendor agrees to hold Schertz Super Duper Con harmless for any lost investments or revenues as a result of either (a) unclaimed or (b) cancelled tables. C) If Schertz Super Duper Con is cancelled because of an Act of God or other event beyond the control of Schertz Super Duper Con, and the event cannot be rescheduled, Schertz Super Duper Con will make good faith attempts to refund 50% of the amount paid. D) Any breach of the provisions of this paragraphs 9 and 10 due to communication failures will be handled in a best faith manner. 11) The Vendor agrees to comply with all municipal, state, and federal requirements, if any, in connection with all sales, including but not limited to any sales or other tax laws. 12) All vendors will obey federal, state, and local laws and ordinances regarding the sale of material, which, intentionally or unintentionally, infringes upon the trademarks or copyrights of another party. Any vendor selling material which infringes upon the trademark or copyright of another party may be ejected without warning and without refund. Schertz Super Duper Con reserves the right to inspect and/or eject questionable material at any time. This includes, but is not limited to, the following products: Bootlegged videos; Fan-subbed videos; Bootlegged (burned) audio CDs, VCDs, and DVDs; Burned or Bootleg video games (e.g. PlayStation, Dreamcast), posters, art prints, etc.. 13) Schertz Super Duper Con takes no responsibility for any infringing material, and will fully comply with all requests from license holders and law enforcement to inform vendors of infractions. Vendors hold all responsibility toward licensed material and having written documentation on-hand of proper license permissions. 14) Vendors shall not display material, which is deemed offensive or inappropriate. Schertz Super Duper Con has the sole right to determine what is or is not offensive or inappropriate. Vendors who continue to display material which has been deemed to be offensive or inappropriate may be ejected without warning and without refund. Furthermore, vendors shall not sell any “adult”-deemed material at the convention, in compliance with Schertz Super Duper Con policy, including but not limited to DVDs, doujinshi, suggestive body pillows, adult dating-simulation games and other adult material usually not for sale to customers less than 18 years of age. Vendors who sell such materials may be ejected without warning and without refund. Failure to comply is immediate grounds for ejection without warning and without refund. Schertz Super Duper Con reserves the right to determine if the material in question is “adult” in nature. 15) Vendors are expected to follow the same rules of behavior as the rest of the convention attendees during off-hours. Any Vendor ejected from the convention during those hours must leave immediately with their goods. 16) Vendor is responsible for providing its own insurance, if desirable, to protect Vendor and Vendor’s property from damage, loss, theft, harm or injury. Schertz Super Duper Con will not obtain insurance on Vendor’s behalf. Vendor is solely responsible for its own company exhibited material, goods, samples, and other property. 17) Schertz Super Duper Con will lock the doors to the building after hours. Schertz Super Duper Con, however, is not responsible for any loss or damage to Vendor’s property, which may occur. 18) Vendors shall keep all designated areas clean and will not nail, screw, or attach anything to the exhibit hall space. Signs, banners and flyers may not be posted on venue property. 19) All displays, chairs, tables and merchandise must be maintained within Vendor’s designated area. 20) Selling of items by Vendors on convention grounds, which includes the stated event location and adjoining facilities, their parking lots, other than the Vendor Rooms or any other designated area noted by Schertz Super Duper Con is NOT allowed during the weekend of any Schertz Super Duper Con event. Vendors who fail to comply will be ejected without warning and without refund. 21) Vendor and Artist Badges must be worn at all times while in the expo hall. Lost badges should be reported promptly to the Registration desk. Lost/stolen badges will NOT be replaced. Please make sure your badge is worn, and visible at all times. 22) Vendor will hold harmless Schertz Super Duper Con and event facilities or any of their respective officers, agents, employees, members, representatives or affiliates, from any liability, damage, loss, harm, claim, or injury to property or person of the Vendor, Vendor officers, agents, employees or other persons, whether caused by the negligence of Schertz Super Duper Con or event facilities, or from theft, fire, water, accident, or any other cause whatsoever. 23) Schertz Super Duper Con reserves the right to make changes to or amend this contract and has the final say on all matters pertaining to the use and function of the Vendor Room during the run of the show.
